Destination and research areas of the department:
Department of Land Management and Rural Development was established in 1998. Its destination is to train agricultural engineers specialized to environmental management and organic farming. During the 3 years long (BSc) study our students are learning environment-related subjects such as Soil Science, Agrochemistry, Soil melioration and Water, Forest management, Ecology, Agrometeorology, Enviromnental Health, Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Applied Toxicology, Organic Farming etc.
This department is resposible for the "Environmental and Water Management" 2 semesters long postgradual course.
Our colleagues are dealing with different research themes such is phytoremediation of metal contaminated soil or water (see publications of dr. László Simon), phytostabilization of contaminated soil (see publications of Mr. Sándor Barna), sewage sludge utilization in the agriculture (see publications of Dr. Zsuzsanna Uri), soil biology (see publications of Dr.Csaba Varga), weed management (see publications of Mr. Miklós Szabó), cultivation of local plant species (see publications of Ms. Katalin Irinyi-Oláh), biogas production and nitrate leaching in soils (see publications of Dr. Eszter Kalmár-Vass), and water and soil pollution (see publications of Dr. György Vincze).
